Biofutures: An Overview
Biofutures is a scholarly multimedia project that explores key ethical issues that have emerged as a result of rapidly changing relationships between commerce, human tissue, and biotechnology.
Biofutures is based around a textual argument. This argument is developed in six chapters, and these six chapters are organized into three parts: "Law," "Culture," and "Biology."
Biofutures employs evidence in a variety of media, including video interviews with experts from the fields of genetics, history, and law; video footage and computer animations of basic laboratory procedures; and clips from popular films that have helped establish public perceptions of the possibilities and dangers of biocommerce.
